Dear all, How about a semi-nude, sexy alien strutting her stuff? Excellent animation - walking etc.. Sorry about the large file size, but seeing is believing. With kind regards, vovchik

Hi vovchik, Very cool, that walking alien - from now on one of my core apps for sure As a side note, I had to change line 35 to CONST cairo$ = "libcairo.so.2"
...because Linux Mint doesn't seem to recognize 'libcairo.so'. BR, Peter

Dear Peter, I quite enjoy that particular alien, too. I think I should change my cairo CONST to libcairo.so.2 as well, since I have both and both are symlinks to the real library, which has a long version number. I'll try to remember that in future... With kind regards, vovchik PS. I am surprised at how little CPU use we are getting. Very encouraging. PPS. And there is something to be said for good anatomical modelling.

Dear guys, Only four frames here, and a rather decent size physically, and tiny in bytes (program and images 100k). I can see rather efficient little games here With kind regards, vovchik Attachments:

Dear all (mostly Alex), Here is a nice little demo of the famous spinning dancer. If you look at her, remove your eyes from the screen and look again, she should change her spin direction (clockwise/counterclockwise). What is new here is the use of curtains to open the demo (and to close it), and the use of opacity to fade images in and out - this assumes a goocanvas lib => 0.95, since the author added this property to image objects at that time. If you run in a terminal and see g_object errors regarding the "alpha" property, you are using an old goocanvas lib and I would suggest upgrading. A 32-bin UPX'd binary is in the archive, as is the source and all required images (2 sprite strips). Have fun.... With kind regards, vovchik Attachments:

Dear Alex (et al.),
Here is a new animation that features zooming of an object - the keyhole - through which the animation is viewed.
Have fun....
With kind regards, vovchik

Dear All, There is a lot of activity on the GOO front but Alex will make that announcement pretty soon. In the meantime, I have redone Peter's clines prog using GOO, and the results (called GoofBalls) are pretty (at least I think so). All the graphics are contained in the single source code file (attached in the next post, along with a 32-bit UPX'd binary), and no external files are needed to make this run (except, of course the required libs). Have fun. Here is a screen shot. With kind regards, vovchik Attachments:

Dear Joe,
Thanks for the kind words. Alex will have something great for GOO coming out soon. And you do very essential, fundamental and great things for the benefit of all of us here, and I, for one, appreciate that work immensely. And Peter's "sine qua non" contribution - are there adequate words for that?
I did a remake of my earlier gdf.bac (on Peter's main site) a while back but forgot to post it. This time I used GOO to give the graphics a little bit more snap. Here is what that effort looks like (the archive in the next post contains a 32-bit binary and the source).
With kind regards, vovchik
