Outstanding work vovchik! Looks really good. Works without modifications on my 64bit Linux Mint.
Thanks! Peter

vovchik,
I could sure use your help with some of that GOO magic (graphics API wizardry) with BaCon on Android. C4droid supplies all the tools needed for a native C app to access Android's VM resources. (getures, UI, ...)
I have built a fully functional C/C++ (gcc) with all the Linux tools and accessories for a non-rooted tablet. BaCon for Android seems to run great!
You had mentioned in the past that there was interest on your part with BaCon / SDL / native app glue with your tablet. Is that still true?

Dear jrs,
Yes, I am interested but have to wait a bit. The screen/digitzer or ribbon cable on my rooted Galaxy tab was flaky and I brought it in for repair today. I had previously replaced the glass myself and connected the video ribbon cable - some six months ago - but I noticed that the display was sometimes not showing much, sometimes showing better when I pressed on the glass and sometimes showing not 32-bits depth but only 16 bits - in a word, flaky. I think it is the cable, and the repair shop should let me know by tomorrow what the case is. After that repair, I will be back in business....
With kind regards, vovchik

Dear Peter, I am glad it works without mods. Once Axel's lib is ready, the code will be much "lighter" and easy to use. Can't wait.... With kind regards, vovchik

I'm lucky to have a few tablets to work with. Have you thought about using the Android emulator that comes with the SDK? Use your tablet for final testing.

Dear jrs,
I have the emulator and sdk installed and have played with it a little bit. Will play with it further. It is the best way to test code. I wonder which platform/API I should use for widest applicability. What did you use when preparing your suite?
With kind regards, vovchik

The BaCon Android project is a spin-off and not something Peter is willing to support. Send me a e-mail (support @ scriptbasic.org) with the user ID you want to use for the All Basic developer forum. I'm working on an Android development system build instructions which will include helpful build scripts. For developers I will be providing a tar file you extract in your ConnectBot directory structure and set one path and you have a full Linux development environment. (will be available on the members only code repository board) Must own a copy of and have installed:- C4droid + GCC, SDL & QT plug-ins
- Busybox (root version - manual install)
- ConnectBot (pro version recommended)
At this point I see no need for heavy weapons but you may want to bring a flame thrower along to deal with the nay-sayers and those with little faith.

Just wondering if this could be used to make a solitaire card game? I could work on some graphics for it if it uses images of some kind like PNG or JPG files.

Dear All, I decided to embellish goofballs with a tiny bit of animation. Now the selected ball flashes on and off If you want an optically quieter game, use the previous version. Have fun... With kind regards, vovchik Attachments:

Here is an idea for the back of the card. Let me know what you think of it, it can change. John
