Dear Joe,
Thanks. I see how the order matters - the sql and cache files are now in the ME$ dir, so you now have the calling order right. Good that you figured that one out. I did not see any of that business mentioned in the documentation, so I assume it was trial and error until you got it to work. Bravo. I don't see any operational bugs - it is working fine - and it is very fast in the initial load, which makes it very useful. Zooming by 0.1 is also very nice.
With kind regards, vovchik

Dear Joe, Here is the mod with my icons - and an extra "Restart" button. I am not seeing things as a local cache, so I might have something in the wrong order. In any case, it seems to be working. Thanks. With kind regards, vovchik UPDATE: Got the local cache etc. to work.

It's just that I do not have the skills, or sufficient time to cooperate with this project, but I want to say that I am very very grateful.
In just one month time, BaCon wharp speeded itself into the next century. (20 years too late, but better late than sorry.)
First Pjot implemented code to make GUI's with anything, even ncursus. Then the gtk possibilities were exploded, and now we even have a browser.
All the browsers on my system sucks, including the Bassix one. All so very slow, or crashing on the old Rpi. My system sucks, for I am always messing with it. Give me a button that says: 'Don't press', and I'll press it. I'm in the process of buying the newer version.
But with the Bassix browser, my right to complain stopped. If I do not like it, I can change whatever I don't like.
I can even make a client side scripting language, like baconscript.;°)
Thanks.
Rik.

Dear Rik,
I know that all browsers are big and heavy, and old Rpis are slow. Bassix works nicely on my RPi4 with 4 GB. There is a new Pi4 coming with 8 GB soon. I am certain that Bassix on that will fly...

Ha, I'll wait this little bit then, and buy the newest one. I've already had this much patience, a little bit more won't harm. Rik.

Dear Joe,
Thanks. Everything working as advertised. I see how you renamed the cache files and learned something. I suppose, if the cache is not deleted, passwords can be saved. I think those would be in the sql file. As for enhancements, some kind of text/reader mode would be nice and is doable.

Dear Joe,
Thanks. Everything works. I managed to modify main.js to play local files, too, by using "file://" rather than "https://" and that works, as does changing the image for each track to local svgs. I am learning....

Dear Joe, I see what you mean about the missing inspector after setting up the context. There must be away, and the inspector is a useful feature. As for javascript integration, I recall seeing a few examples but failed to save the urls. There is also this: python webkitgtk. We (actually you more than me) are moving along.... Thanks. I am still stuck trying to do some kind of simple reader view and trying things out. With kind regards. vovchik

Dear Joe,
Wow! And thanks. It looks like bassix is now really on its way to become a very useful tool. I have to study how you integrated bb. Everything working on my platforms. I suppose, with the javascript bits working, even a tiny adblocker or reader view can be included without too much coding, since those javascript modules already exist. The resulting binary is still tiny. Great.

Dear Joe,
It is getting better all the time. I like that bb editor. You can do very many things with it, and it is fairly comprehensive. I'll have a look for a reader prototype and a minimal ad blocker.
Thanks...

Dear Joe, Thanks, again. The pages do load faster. I found this list of environmental variables we can play with. Something might be useful... Webkit varsWith kind regards, vovchik

Dear Joe,
Thanks, again. Eliminating those online dependencies is great. I have been testing those environmental variables, and the one you use in the code is the most relevant one, so far, as far as I can tell. I am still testing, though. I will soon have to examine your javascript handling, in order to understand it.
With kind regards, vovchik

Dear Alex and Joe, That link works fine on my RPi4 using Joe's latest (2.5). And, I must say, the scaling and refresh are fast. The same on Mint, too. With kind regards, vovchik
