I know the syntax is wrong, but bacongui 3.3.2 just exits without an error message when doing a conversion to C after preprocessing: Can this be reprocduced in your environment ? string="hello" PRINT string
Output on terminal: Runtime error: statement 'OPEN FOR READING' at line 10836 in 'bacongui.bac': Error opening file: No such file or directory

Hi pebau,
This does not happen on my 64bit Linux Mint, the output I see is:
This number is actually the memory address where the string is stored.
Which Linux version are you using (distribution, 32bit or 64bit)?
Thanks Peter

Dear Peter and pebau,
I ran that in bacon and bacongui on Mint 17.3 (32-bit). Everything fine. I got 134518424 as a result.
With kind regards, vovchik

Maybe my bacon installation is not correct, I just changed to 3.3.2 beta. I am using Ubuntu 16.04 / 64 Bit. Thanks

Hi pebau, Actually I recently have made some changes to the error reporting, did you get the last version from August 16? I am asking, because from the error message I suspect it is an older 3.3.2 beta. Thanks Peter

Hi Pjot, I installed 3.3.2 beta on 7th of August, so I will just re-install the latest beta version. Thank you for your help. Peter
