Hello According to the documentation: Well, I'm not natively English speaking, and after numerous attempts, I still don't grasp the regular expressions thing, but I suppose that the above means that the following should work: OPTION COMPARE TRUE
string$ = "a b c" PRINT EXTRACT$(string$, "B") But it doesn't. The response is: a b c should be: a c Rik.

Hi rikky, In case of EXTRACT$ it only works with regular expressions. As the documentation you have quoted says: Also at the EXTRACT$ function description: Therefore, you code should be: OPTION COMPARE TRUE
string$ = "a b c" PRINT EXTRACT$(string$, "B", TRUE)
Now you should see the correct result. HTH Peter
