All, The latest BaCon version 3.0.1 is ready for consumption and can be obtained from the BaCon website. This is a maintenance release which should fix issues caused by the major code overhaul in the 3.0 version. Highlights: - Android compatibility
- Support for type suffixes
- Allow foreign functions unconditionally
- Lots of code cleaning and many fixes and improvements
See the full list of changes for more details. BaCon releases are made available after testing on several platforms, including Tru64Unix, MacOSX and several flavors of Linux. Thanks to the BaCon community for notifying issues, reporting bugs and suggesting improvements! Special thanks to bitvast, vovchik, alex and bigbass for endlessly pointing out bugs, problems and inconsistencies. Best regards Peter

Hello,
Trying to download the CentOS rpm of bacon 3.0. I keep getting:
Not Found
The requested URL /stable/bacon-3.0-1.x86_64.rpm was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Can you help me out?
Thanks in advance.

Hi xstreur,
Yesterday the RPM package for 3.0.1 was created and uploaded. Can you try again?

Hi Peter,
Just changed over from bacon 3.0 to bacon 3.0.1, now every time I re-compiled some programs I wrote under 3.0 with 3.0.1 it asks me to use the -a option. Is there a way to not have to always use the -a?
Quick update, it compiles and runs if done from bacon GUI, but when done at command line it will compile but when you try to run the program you get an error asking you to compile with -a option and then you can run program with no error.
Thanks greco558

Hi greco558,
How did you install 3.0.1? Because it looks like your BaCon installation is broken.
I guess best is to remove everything first, manually delete all instances of bacon, bacon.sh, bacongui and libbacon.a on your system.
Then install again from scratch.
HTH Peter

Peter,
I will try that. I used the autoconf file, I did not remove any old 3.0 files but I will remove and re-install and let you know if that fixes trouble...
Thanks greco558

Hi Peter,
Found trouble after I re-installed and had the same issue. There was no problem with the install, I had a copy of bacon 3.0 in /usr/bin/ and that is what was being used from command line. Your GUI worked because it was using the correct version in /usr/local/bin/. So to fix it I deleted the file bacon version 3.0 in /usr/bin and created a bacon link file in /usr/bin/ to the /usr/local/bin/ bacon file version 3.0.1. Now anytime you come out with updates they will install with no problem now that I have that link in place. I am running Precise Puppy 5.7.1...in case anyone with that version has the same trouble updating..
Thanks again greco558
