Peter,
How about creating a Gtk-Server forum on ProBoards?
I hope you still plan on supporting it. Cross platform GUI doesn't get any easier then Gtk-Server.

John,
Yes I am still supporting GTK-server, but there already is a mailinglist for it.

Peter,
I'm just amazed how well GTK-Server runs under Linux. The ScriptBasic application executables (using SB .so runtime) are small and load really fast.
Windows based GTK-Server applications take longer to load and the executables are larger.
Sure would be nice to allow GTK-Server to load a per-parsed gtk-server.cfg for faster load times. I would be happy if I could just pass a GTK-Server .cfg string of only the Gtk calls I'm making in my application.

You can with 'gtk_server_define'. In fact, there is no need to use a configfile at all, all GTK calls can be declared using this function.

Thanks Peter! That's what I was looking for. Is there anything I need to do if not using the gtk-server.cfg file and using the 'gtk_server_define' instead? Any chance of adding a GUI toolkit board here on the BaCon forum? This would include Gtk via .lib and the GTK-Server option for those wishing to use their cross platform GUI definitions with BaCon without a lot of work. It could also include discussions about wxWidgets and Qt. BTW: I noticed that BaCon wasn't added to the list of languages tested with GTK-Server. ( Example) You may want to create a sticky post on this forum pointing to the BaCon Project Site.

For 'gtk_server_define', nothing else is needed.
Regarding the GUI board, for Qt and WxWidgets it does not make sense as these are implemented in C++. Their functions cannot be imported.
BaCon was not added to the list of languages because it has the functionality of GTK-server by itself - no need to use GTK-server at all.

No problem. I'll just ask my questions on the SB GTK-Server forum board and send you an e-mail to see if you can respond. I noticed that when the SB GTK-Server HUG migrated to BaCon.
