Hi Peter.
Just got a chance to play with the beta but I am getting this error message when I use bacon.bash bacon.bac from the command line.
Syntax error: argument to PRAGMA at line 25 in file 'bacon.bac' not recognized!
Not sure if I did some thing wrong or not.
John
EDIT: Here is what I did from the command line.
john@iMac:~/Projects/BaCon/Beta$ bacon.bash bacon.bac Converting 'bacon.bac'... 25 Syntax error: argument to PRAGMA at line 25 in file 'bacon.bac' not recognized! john@iMac:~/Projects/BaCon/Beta$

Hey John
Since Peter is the author developer of BaCon it would be correct for him to do a lot of testing of the betas before he makes them official versions
But generally speaking we should use stable versions for the general population as the installed version compile with it and if something doesn't work as expected you could see if it was fixed with the latest beta
To do this easily and have a test folder let's say BETA for testing out beta versions to help out beta testing and offering user feed back ==========================================
Well you want to compile bacon.bac the beta version with the bash script bacon.bash
so this is done differently like this (make sure you change the permissions to executable first chmod a+x bacon.bash )
Do this just one time
./bacon.bash bacon.bac
now to test beta versions instead of using the installed official BaCon keep all your bacon apps you want to test in this BETA folder
and run them after compiling the bacon.bac as explained above
./bacon your_program.bac

Thanks big guy, I think I see what I did wrong. The commands I gave was trying to convert bacon.bac with the stable version of bacon.bash that is in my path? I need to use the new version of bacon.bash......
Thank you, John

OK, this is fun. Love it!
Is it just me or is converting and compiling way faster? WOW!
