All, Over time a lot of programs have been published on this forum and every now and then the question for a wiki pops up. Recently, my ISP started supporting PHP and I was able to install the Mediawiki software using my account (this is the same ISP where the BaCon homepage is hosted). I have added a few modifications: - Default language is English
- Accounts have to be requested in the "Create account" page
- Syntax highlighting for BaCon
The Wiki for BaCon can be found at the following URL: wiki.basic-converter.orgEnjoy! Peter

All,
It seems there were some DNS problems in resolving the WIKI pages, but that should have been resolved now.

Sounds great !
We all have many snippets and examples scattered on the forum and we need a better way to organize the working examples a wiki page will allow for everyone filter out just the needed information to one central place
Thank you
Joe
It is nice that You posted some examples first so we can see the source code
<syntaxhighlight lang="bacon">
some BACon code example here
</syntaxhighlight>

I was able to replicate my google code page for HUG widgets today on the BaCon wiki The syntax was very different so it was all manually done again the wikipedia type syntax is much better though but the good news we have syntax highlighting using BaCon wiki and the formatting is better too respecting the tabs (and google code will not allow edits after January 2014) so the wiki came at a perfect time The new location in my signature for HUG is now google free Joe

under construction porting the BaCon's main html page to wiki sneak peek here wiki.basic-converter.org/index.php/Main-page-wikinot really needed to do the whole thing but ... *this will help with cut and pasting any part of the code into any users wiki page to save a lot of time also useful for us seeing how to convert html to wiki having something to reference the code with Joe

We have the BaCon main html website converted to wiki syntax! wiki.basic-converter.org/index.php/Main-page-wikicontent and links are the same the look is a bit different though because html and wiki are not the same but its a wiki so it can be easily modified and updated note the yellow background is for the most important things to get started with since there is a lot of information to read for new users Joe

Hey Guys just a progress report it has been quiet in the forum lately because there is a lot of work going on in the background I am still adding some details and code examples to the wiki (the bulk of it was converting Peter's already web pages from html to the wiki formating ) in the long run to get new users we need to show how many things BaCon can do and *remember still keep the final dependencies very small* I am sure many people visited BaCon two or three years ago but a lot has changed since then we now have a chance to help out with some of the BaCon users adding to the wiki feedback and suggestions are very welcomed Alex is busy with adding documentation for GFX and goocanvas so it will be easier to get started with that approach always the first step to anything is documentation and examples Vovchik is busy coding as usual he has some nice new ideas he will reveal when its time (He also has hundreds of code examples that need to get added to the wiki ) Peter is busy with the Betas He hasn't announced anything there but there is a new beta to test out and offer feedback so take a look beta.basic-converter.org/P.S I saw a few new users that haven't posted don't be shy welcome to the forum in advance please ask any questions getting started always takes a bit of effort but we always have time to help out Joe
