PAC-BOY is one of Peter's most CPU intensive games I converted. It is playable under Windows but I wouldn't try to play the game under Wine. The OxygenBasic version may work and be usable but I haven't tried. The point of getting the ScriptBasic version working under wine is so you had a model to work with for your BaCon version. The Magic 24 game seems to be playable under Wine.
Sorry for the confusion.

Looks like BacPacBoy on Goo-Canvas in Bacon is better option Try the demo Then use system monitor to see the results.. trying to do the SB and all the bits + updating Wine three times was a lot of effort for very little reward . will stick with SB Linux , rest is going in the bin. I had no intention of turning ScriptBasic into a gaming engine. I was amazed that SB was even able to play graphic games. (tight loop animation) I was happy with how SokoMouse ran and a few of the other examples Peter wrote but I'm on to other things with SB. (threading, C callbacks to scripts, ...)
I think you will find SB/IUP for Linux as a better example of the intent of the language.
Thanks for all your testing!

Hi All
For Reference : IF your System is Ubuntu ,
Then if Not Expert , I can not Recommend Doing This .
Therefore as Regards Ubuntu : If Novice Stay with What is available in the Software Centre.

I would say BaCon isn't for the casual user either. People looking for programming languages know what their after and what their interests are. I have yet to see a post on this forum by a user asking what BaCon applications can they download.
Wine
I use Wine for Windows ScriptBasic development. This allows me NOT to have to load a VirtualBox to run XP in. The Windows application I most use (and previously missed) is Ultra Edit. I have yet to find an editor I like more. (I'm sure it's out there ...)

Welcome to "The World of Linux"
From what I see , but please Remember I relatively new to BaCon .
Bacon is in Essence an Application in its own Right.
Therefore Bacon is an Application to Write an Application , the User has free choice on what can be done with it IE : Very Flexible , + produces stand-alone code .
As regards an Application for down-load , who knows what it was produced by .
There could be thousands of Apps out there produced by BaCon .
Generally in a Linux World no One really cares , as long as it Works.
