Dear Alex, I see the problem. I just tried reposting - my archive was OK - but the board seems to have timeout problems. With kind regards, vovchik

Dear guys, There is nothing like trashing out on May Day Sorry about the size, again, but there are images. The binary, UPX'd, is only 20k. Source is included. I demostrate a nice, new way of doing a fake menu bar with highlight on hover. With kind regards, vovchik PS. I am trying to repost - deleted the old one that was bad.

Before you get too far down the road with BAC-PAC-BOY, Peter W. posted what looks like a better version of the game and in OpenGL rather than his Simple Window home brew (ASM) graphics animation library. Pac-Bug Game

Dear John, Thanks. I had a look. Basically, Alex and I want a modest but decent goo_canvas implementation, and our little experiment (more his than mine, and it's getting better all the time) gives us an opportunity to try out this lib and to demonstrate how it can be used for animated graphics without too much bother. We are also trying to use svgs to our advantage. If you want to port pacbug, please do. We need more Open_GL examples. Too bad IUP does not support graphics primitives and animation, otherwise I would give that a try. Goo_canvas is quite small (236k), and my UPX'ed binary of PacBacBoy weighs in at some 25k. That's not too bad. With kind regards, vovchik

If IUP has one limitation I would say that's it. It has a easy to use OpenGL wrapper but not tailored to games or dynamic animation. Peter W.'s Simple Windows library made it possible for ScriptBasic under windows using Charles's DLLC to create some fun games. I'm not turning into a gamer and only wanted to stress test SB in a tight loop scenario. Getting 140 FPS in a XP VirtualBox made me happy. You can't be everything to everybody.

very true Forgot to add what Vovchik did not mention ,this base core works in about 1.2 miB that in it's self is amazing .. pacboy folder weighs in at 5.6MB , thats without the overhead of scriba within the core one can import any type of graphics , ADDED:: IF can post a set of graphics from PacBug Game + maps I will show you how Bac-Pac-Boy Can look the same ...
