Ok, ready to take a byte now. Got BaCon up and going on Mint. I will put in a request for PCLinuxOS, but................you all know how it goes. If I thought I could compile it myself......................
So, how would I go about making a small, lean screen capture app with little to no dep's? Something small that I could add onto later. It is probably allot to ask but I was thinking about using a hot key combo and then drag and drop a square on the part of the screen that is wanted. Too much.....................?

P.S. O' and the code would be up for grabs too. Go a head and use it on whatever is your favorite distro. If ya add to it, please post a copy of it here.

1.) easiest mtpaint.sourceforge.net/has an option -s for screen shot mtpaint -s and you can crop and edit easily too I have this installed ================================ 2.) lightest in size or command line using a X11 package xwd and netpbm which is an app netpbm.sourceforge.net/ this is what you use from the command line so it could have a BaCon GUI call this easily xwd -root | xwdtopnm | pnmtopng > capture.png I confirmed this to work ================================ 3.) already has everything but a bit awkward to use because needs gimp or imagemagick or netpbm to convert to png If you want the selectable red square for video or a single screen shot xvidcap.sourceforge.net/I have this installed Joe
