Is that because of Trinity it is KDE fork or because of something else? Peter ..you really need to add more info about how to install Bacon for linux newbies or former windows users ! what i get is here on shot :

Hi Aurel, Actually, I have never heard of Q4OS ever before. In fact, there are so many operating systems and Linux distros, it is hard to maintain documentation for everything The editors come in a version for FLTK and a version for GTK. Obviously, your Q4OS needs to have such toolkit installed, otherwise the editors will not run. The name "Q4OS" sounds like it is based on the Qt4-toolkit. Then it would be no wonder why the native editors do not work. Fortunately, you do not need to use them. Because you can use gVIM as well, or Geany, or even the plain Gnome editor. For all these editors we have syntax highlighting definitions available. And if you want, you can use the plain shell: the 'bacon -e <yourfile.bac>' command will start an editor right in the shell. Also please note that the source package contains a README file with instructions. HTH Peter

Hi Peter Yes Q4OS is a debian based KDE Trinity desktop OS well i like old KDE so install it ..it is kind of lazy on my old computer but work. I already do this : sudo apt install libgtksourceview-3.0-1 and voila....double-click on bacongui-gtk i get this simple code editor on first look ..very Gnome look..i like it. there is simple settings...well not bad only keywords require caps ...maybe i need to turn auto-indent ?

Hi Peter I am finally glad that something work on Linux dont get me wrong ..i am Windoz user ok i use this KDE OS because i like KTechLab which is KDE app however you may expect lot of questions I copy/paste in baconGTK editor old example i found here on forum about simple Progressbar...i figured that i need HUG for that example OK i copy and paste and save HUG.bac...at first editor wont save it properly as .bac file ..it looks like annoying thing. OK then i figure that i need to type HUG.bac in SaveDialog ..ahhh // this should be fixed // then of course i click Convert then even i can "compile" HUG... do i really need that ? or i made mistake ?OK then i try convert ProgressBar,bac and i receive this error ? what i am doing wrong ?

Hi Aurel, If your program and the HUG include file are in the same directory, you have to tell the editor as well. This can be accomplished by setting the "tmp" directory to the current directory "." (see screenshot). Hope this helps, Peter Attachments:

Hi Aurel, Well, I downloaded and ran Q4OS in a VM, but after installing BaCon it all works for me (see screenshot). So, not sure where you get that error from, unfortunately I cannot reproduce it... Can you open a console and execute bacon from there? That should provide more information. So as follows: # bacon ProgressBar.bac
Please post the output on this forum. Thanks, Peter
