blinks = bookmarks 2 links This is a command line tool to automatically export your google chrome bookmarks without using chrome you just compile it and run it with no arguments needed Notes: Google chrome stores your bookmarks in a JSON formatted file in your home directory in a hidden folder the program will read in the JSON file and convert it to HTML automatically for you and cleans up the formatting removing timestamps all original code and 100% bacon no external libraries used blinks-1.2.tar.gz (1015 B) small update to use the tmp folder I also ported this to 100% javascipt experimental-coding.freeforums.net/post/678UPDATED to include debian packages deb-packages-binks-1.2.0.tar.gz (34.39 KB) '---automatically converts google chrome JSON formatted bookmarks to cleaned html bookmarks in /tmp/Bookmarks.html blinks_1.2.0_aarch64.deb blinks_1.2.0_amd64.deb blinks_1.2.0_i386.deb rpi3 arm blinks_1.2.0_armhf.deb armv7l.tar.gz (10.41 KB) some usage tips just type blinks in a terminal then something like this works as a test dillo /tmp/Bookmarks.htmlor some other light browser great for document reading chrome is very memory hungry Joe

Updated prior post to also work to save javascript bookmarklets
blinks was written in pure bacon code
bookmarklets are very powerful it is like making your own browser plugins and store them as simple bookmarks
Bookmarklets 101 Regular bookmarks (aka favorites) are just locations to visit, like “http://gmail.com”. Bookmarklets are javascript code that the browser runs on the current page, and they’re marked by “javascript:” instead of “http://”.
When clicking a bookmarklet, imagine the page author wrote #<script>bookmarklet code here</script> — it can do almost anything. I cant show some examples because the forum blocks javascript but I use many of them

cross building turned out to be simple on debian with cmake and the size is so good that it can be done all on a raspberry pi3 as the host with my sdcard!!
now we can convert our own bacon apps to debian packages
I wrote this app in bacon first and a later time rewrote it in pure javascript
the 100% bacon version is below
'---automatically converts google chrome JSON formatted bookmarks to cleaned html bookmarks in /tmp/Bookmarks.html blinks_1.2.0_aarch64.deb blinks_1.2.0_amd64.deb blinks_1.2.0_i386.deb
first post has the bac and deb packages
