how to empty then push text onto the clipboard and shell it to terminal or other app by commandline?
i know this is a multi part question but it is direct to the point and i thought seeing exactly what im trying to do will better help understand my how to question.

Dear iamdenteddisk,
I am not sure what you have in mind. Are you writing a GTK GUI application with HUG, the GUI proxy, FLTK, or a command line program? GTK can, for example, perform clipboard management. As for the command line, you have to write to/clear the clipboard either by using X11 libs or by using an existing external Linux utility (e.g. xsel, xclip). Check SYSTEM and EXEC in the manual for syntax regarding the latter option.

i'm really just toying to learn the bacon basic language but toying with an antivirus idea i have. i wanna push settings/changes and other info as notifications to the desktop.
