Dear basica,
Thanks for testing, and good to know that it works for you. I, like you, am interesting in seeing what Alex has cooked up in terms of a minimalistic WM. The edit and entry boxes look great.
With kind regards, vovchik

Dear all, First, thanks to Peter, we now have a simple means of playing mp3s. I have modded the skinned midi player to play them, and added a volume control (and an LED that goes green when playing). Have fun. Let me know whether it works for you, if you manage to compile it. With kind regards, vovchik UPDATED! Attachments:

Thanks vovchik, All works as advertised. I definitely should cleanup that directory browser now BTW: I found a memory leak in the MP3 plugin, sorry about it. The 'data' working area is recreated each time a new MP3 file is opened, but not freed when the MP3 playing has stopped. It is not very severe, but nevertheless, better to apply a small fix. The updated MP3 plugin is here. Anyway, all works, the GUI and the MP3 rendering, and the layout looks very good! Regards Peter

Dear Peter, Thanks. I updated the archive above with the revised mp3 plugin (openal-plugin-mp3.bac). It's amazing how little I had to change from the MIDI player...and it all worked. With kind regards, vovchik

Dear all, Here is a skinned version of basica's delightful Matador game. I wanted to see how STB image display and movement would play with skinned widgets. Have fun. With kind regards, vovchik Attachments:

Dear Peter,
Thanks for the "thumbs up". I wonder whether it will run on basica's machine, and on Alex's PI, too. Hope so.
With kind regards, vovchik

vovchik, To characterize this as "basica's delightful Matador game", is an incredibly kind and generous comment . I do appreciate that and thanks. Your version works very nicely and with your added touches brightens up the contest. Hotlips works well (might be a good character for a tv series) Regards, basica

Dear basica, I took your suggestion up on a character for a TV series. Laughable subject matter this time round (hope I am not offending anybody), but the animation is nice, I think. Amazing what you can do with shifting opacities. With kind regards, vovchik Attachments:

vovchik, A very informative coding model demonstrating good programming form by using highly descriptive variables. Also, a well put together animation, including a near perfect hair color match.... Regards, basica

Dear basica and Peter, Thanks. As for the hair, henna, followed by a hydrogen peroxide rinse and meticulous, fastidious blow drying after careful interweaving usually does the trick. With kind regards, vovchik PS. And we must't forget follicular transplants to get the ball rolling.
