Peter, I've Just installed BaCon on my netbook which uses the fluxbox edition of Salix, and I see you've moved the lowercase option to the options menu. Not sure whether that made the difference but it all works fine. I'm just re-installing the new beta on my main computer, so we'll see. By the way, I don't think the execution string would have made any difference because the crash occurs before it's passed. Edit: Sadly, it's not working in the new beta. I'm still getting the crash right after conversion and after I've clicked on the "execute" message. Thanks again for all your help on this, I can just use a terminal for the conversion or perhaps use Geany instead.

Hi bitvast, Well, I think I got a hunch why GTK crashes. The lowercase option is fiddling around with renaming the selected sourcefile, and it seems this is something GTK cannot handle. So I have changed the BaConGUI implementation to workaround this GTK issue. Now, the lowercase definitions are kept in a separate file, and this file is included from the 'cpp' command line. This way, the original sourcefile will remain untouched, the the FILE dialog should not get confused. Can you try to install the latest beta from this afternoon to see if it works? For the lowercase option, I thought it was better to put it in the menu, as both the main editor and the Scratchpad should be made aware of lowercase keywords. BR Peter

Peter, SUCCESS! Your hunch was obviously correct. Thanks again for all your work. As usual, OUTSTANDING "customer service". Phew. I'm going to lie down for a while...

Well, that's good news! Hope you do not find anything else, because I want to release 3.0.2 tomorrow

Hi bitvast,
Just for your info, I made one more change, so the lowercase parsing now also works with TCC and the Compaq C Compiler preprocessors.

Thanks Peter. I must give TCC a try sometime, it looks impressive.
