Hello juppel
Thanks for your feedback
It was productive and positive
Pros:
1.)I updated old
Code to compile with the latest version of bacon
2.) It gave me a reason to install
Archlinux on the raspberry pi3 B
And test the bacon compiler
And verify that it works correctly
On a 32 bit system
As a side note fltk works
correctly using the basic compiler
Cons:
Even after much effort was
Exercised PROTO experimental examples don't work with your
OS maybe a 64 bit issue
But please understand that
The IMPORT examples do work for you
And there are many excellent demos on the official bacon website to try out!
We all try to advance bacon in different ways
There are many different coding styles but in the end we run it though the bacon compiler
And that gives the compiler a lot of testing and improvements
Imagine if we didn't try new things we wouldnt be able to compile c++
Code in the backend
Which opened the door to many
Experiments. Of using other c++
Libraries
Some may say that's not basic language anymore but
We are keeping up with the times we
Love basic but are now living in 2019 using linux not msdos anymore
You can still write in basic
If you want bacon does that very well and there are also many fine examples
And so much more I would like to see
Bacon used on the next latest micro controllers controlling the IOT
And the raspberry is just the start
The world still has a lot of space for dreams
And compiled code is best ( at least from my point of view)
All the scripting coders have moved onto python but. Bacon is much faster and better too
Thanks and have fun coding
Joe
