The sky is falling and we are all going to die.
PLEASE, can you spare us with the drama?
Alex is famous for his thread high-jacking when he thinks he is losing control or if contributions from others don't meet his approval. It's frustrating because for the most part Alex is a great guy and tries to be helpful.

Back to Qix: The reason for earlier problems on the XBOX were due to an incomplete qix.bac The executable is now ~37K but it still won't run. The basic window is there but that's all. No wonder: CPU usage is 100% i.e. the processor is choked. RAM usage is 34% so that should be OK. What could be so "heavy" about Qix that it won't run? Edit: I can run the 'clock' and '15puzzle' programs at the same time with 'qix' while the CPU usage is 100%. But qix won't work. I also notice when another window is dragged over the qix window and removed again, the qix window is not redrawn as opposed to the other windows...

Sounds like that XBOX simply cannot handle the graphical parts of GTK. Are you using the latest HUG include file in which the drawing functions were optimized? BR, Peter

Yes, I use the latest HUG include file. Indeed, the current XBOX/XDSL setup could be at (beyond )its limits. However (in order not to give up rightaway ), a more recent version of GTK could be of use. I have now installed GTK+-2.12.9. What would be the minimum required version?
