Charles has made it really easy to use C .h include files with OxygenBasic.
includepath "C:\iup\include\" extern lib "iup.dll" cdecl include "iup.o2h" end extern IupOpen(null, null) IupShow(IupDialog(IupLabel("Hello World!"))) IupMainLoop() IupClose()

Dear Joe, jrs and Peter,
Great stuff...and compiles fine in Lucid. Very terse - not much needed to make a GUI. Thanks to you all...
With kind regards, vovchik

My hope is IUP frees Peter up to work on BaCon and spend less time making everyone happy by patching & wrapping Gtk.
The other nice thing is IUP is well documented and supported with ongoing development.

Bacon is not IUP and Hug is not IUP From the first reading of , Bacon was the simple method of. Bacon + a Wrapper for Gtk the basic components of hug do work, Amazingly we find IUP which is in essences the same thing I asked a question . JRS, does it have any dependencies . apparently it does , for each system. it uses the native ? . then we see post of programs developed by IUP. what in the world have they got to do with Bacon or hug . or in fact it's concept ... IUP . let IUP do what it does best. Stalling development of Ingenuity of the mind , and least of all inquisitive thoughts, which lead to things beyond set bits of IUP. Pure Spam.. Have fun And PS: have a look here , at shorthand. basic-converter.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=code&action=display&thread=283Alex..

That is the great thing about open source projects. No one has to follow any one path and the more options Peter offers with BaCon the more popular it will be. I have already seen positive feedback from a couple HUG advocates that think IUP is worth investigating.
It would also make code sharing between projects easier if they would at least support a common agreed on GUI. (IUP is the most portable and easiest to use GUI toolkit I have found)

Like I said , Spam , Look how quick this above response was , yes bacon is a winner ,
Let Pjot and the forum get on with it , Ipso facto if IUP be that good what is the the real purpose of involving BaCon Code.?

Axel

Can you drop the spam thing when this is a language forum that uses a variety of libraries and tools. Why aren't you whining about Peter's SDL examples? They aren't (currently) part of the HUG project.
Give me a break!

Then you should refrain from participating in open source projects with your head in the sand attitude.

Folks, Please stop arguing - BaCon is a project which started out of personal interest and I am just hoping other people have at least as much fun with it as I have. Of course, everybody is free to look into other options, and start building a binding for any other library, if he or she feels to. But HUG remains the main GUI option for BaCon. Thing is, I simply do not have the time to investigate more GUI options extensively. BaCon is a spare-time project for which I do not get any money. Therefore I cannot work full-time on this project, and I have to concentrate to a limited set of activities. So in the time we can spend to our interests, let's just continue to have fun with BaCon. I will lock this thread now. Best regards Peter
