No need to apologize! I see what you mean now. My decision was helped a lot by the fact that BaCon has terminal control statements built in. There's a time to use ncurses, and a time to do things in the simplest possible way. Speaking of which: I tired myself out lately, and cold gloomy weather isn't helping either, so the game still isn't done. Meteor missiles also work now, along with jumping and rocketing. In fact, only pulsar guns and shield recharging remain to be done. Oh, and now you can see a nice compass in game to help you pick a course. Back soon with the rest of it. Have fun! At long last, the game is fully playable. Well, it can be won anyway; haven't yet tested if the losing conditions work properly. It probably needs more tweaks and refinements anyway. Otherwise, dunno what I'm going to do with it. Maybe use it as a jumping point for a Spectrum port down the road. But later. Much later. For now, have fun with it such as it is, and thank you for all the help. Let me know what you think. Attachments:orion.bac (12.5 KB)

Looks really good captain! It's actually playabale now. As a remark: I see the cursor remains visible on the screen, but if you want it can be hidden using CURSOR OFF. BR Peter

Oh! Somehow I missed the CURSOR statement. That would have made the code more general and robust in a few places. But the cursor being visible doesn't bother me; since I decide in what order to put stuff on screen (unlike in ncurses), it's easy to leave the cursor in a place that makes sense. Still good to keep in mind for a future version. Thank you!
